The Treasury today released a consultation document on proposed amendments to the criteria for participating in New Zealand Government Securities (NZGS) tenders. We invite feedback from market participants on the proposed changes. All feedback must be received by 27 May 2019.
The proposed changes relate to the criteria by which an institution can apply to become a Registered Tender Counterparty with the Treasury, as well as detailing specific requirements that must continue to be met in order to retain access to NZGS tendering operations.
The overall aim of the proposed changes is to develop a framework that supports secondary market liquidity and assists Registered Tender Counterparties to perform their role of intermediating NZGS.
