The New Zealand Debt Management Office announced today that a 15 April 2023 government bond, with a coupon of 5.50%, will be introduced at the bond tender on 10 June 2011. The amount to be offered in the tender will be announced at 11.30 am on 9 June 2011.
Demand for longer maturity government bonds has been strong in recent months, which supports the introduction of the April 2023 maturity.
Over time, the new 2023 bond will become the next 10-year benchmark bond. It will also assist with the pricing of a new September 2025 inflation-indexed bond.
