Treasury Deputy Secretary Financial and Commercial, Jon Grayson, today announced the appointment of Andrew Hagan as Director, Capital Markets.
Andrew studied commerce and finance at Otago University. He has extensive financial markets experience and will be well known in the market through his 15 years at the Treasury, predominately working within the debt management operations. Previous roles have included Head of Portfolio Management, Head of Risk Policy and Balance Sheet, and Acting Director, Infrastructure and Housing.
Since being appointed acting Director, Capital Markets in August 2018, Andrew has overseen the implementation of an expanded mandate for the directorate, reflected in its new name, the Capital Markets directorate. Capital Markets incorporates the functions of debt management, export credit, corporate treasury services and financial institutions.
“Andrew’s appointment demonstrates his strong leadership, strategic thinking and ability to apply his deep understanding of capital markets in a policy context,” says Mr Grayson. “It also reflects the excellent progress Andrew has made in progressing the expanded Capital Market’s mandate.”
